Stress Testing

A stress test is a medically recognised test that checks the health of the heart. It involves a medical assessment followed by an electrocardiogram (ECG) while exercising on a treadmill. Stress tests are designed to provide a realistic evaluation of the body's ability to cope with stress. When medically indicated these tests can be bulk billed in accordance with HIC regulations. Optima Sports Medicine can also provide stress tests to clients interested in revealing their level of fitness. Clients who should have a stress test have at least two of the following symptoms or signs:

• Chest pain
• High blood pressure
• Diabetes
• Shortness of breath
• Smoke
• Family history of Heart Disease
• Mentally stressed
• Feeling unwell
• Over worked
• High Cholesterol
• Over 40
• Overweight
